Learn ''people first language'' and breaking ''attitudinal barriers.'' The session will provide strategies for positive interaction with individuals who have visual, hearing, mobility, learning, and psychological disabilities. Experiential group activities include using a wheelchair, low vision goggles, and hearing loss simulation. An overview of the Disability Resource Center and demonstrations of assistive technology, including: JAWS, zoom text, reading pens, Livescribe pens, hearing helpers, and other accommodations will introduce you to the world of accessibility.
